I. Prohibited Import Items

1. Various weapons, imitation weapons, ammunition, and explosive items;

2. Counterfeit currencies and counterfeit securities;

3. Cash of national currencies, securities, and bearer negotiable instruments;

4. Printed materials, films, photos, records, videos, audio tapes, video tapes, laser discs, computer storage media, and other items that are harmful to China's politics, economy, culture, and ethics;

5. Various potent poisons;

6. Opium, morphine, heroin, marijuana, and other narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances that can cause addiction;

7. Animals, plants, and their products carrying dangerous germs, pests, and other harmful organisms;

8. Food, medicines, and other items that are harmful to human and animal health, originate from epidemic areas, or may spread diseases;

9. Radio transceivers and communication security devices;

10. Tobacco and alcohol (except for reasonable quantities for personal use);

11. Animals, endangered and rare plants (including specimens), as well as their seeds and propagation materials;

12. Other items prohibited or restricted from import by customs.

II. Prohibited Export Items

1. All the items prohibited from import as listed above;

2. Flammable, explosive, corrosive, radioactive, and toxic items;

3. Manuscripts, printed materials, films, photos, records, videos, audio tapes, video tapes, laser discs, computer storage media, and other items containing state secrets;

4. Precious cultural relics and other cultural relics;

5. Precious ores, gold, silver, and other precious metals and their products;

6. Precious Chinese medicinal materials;

7. Human remains;

8. All animal internal organs or their products;

9. Illegal items such as counterfeit brand-name products and pirated discs/publications;

10. Other items prohibited or restricted from export by customs.
